So now that I’m mostly settled in the new house, I can do some projects I couldn’t do before I had a garage. One of the nice effects of this is, I will have enough light to shoot some video.

My plan is to go though the process of taking my 1991 Volvo 740 and making it in to a dedicated Autocross vehicle.

Would any of you watch?

If there is a planned corvette engine to go with those corvette racing stripes, then totally, completely, 100% yes. If not, I’ll still watch, because I’m curious. If you’re anywhere in the NY metro area, I’ll even come watch the auto x event in person!

Make it a sleeper ;). I’m a road cyclist and I have two bikes. My main race bike costs nearly 20k with the current configuration.

I have a second bike on a rusted steel frame, using highend wheels purposely painted and rusted to look like shit and top end components with patina added too (worth still a few K) but I love showing up with it to a race or group ride from time to time just to show that appearances aren’t everything.

Yes. It would bring a part of my childhood back from when our fleet consisted of nothing more than two 740s, an automatic n/a sedan and a manual turbo wagon...the memories that were made in those cars were amazing...

Me too. But with over 300K miles and my dad losing his job in 2011 (for only two days thankfully) merited the purchase of something more reliable since the both the sedan and wagon were getting less drivable (the wagon had small issues here and there from sitting, the sedan had transmission issues but was his DD) so after he bought his current ‘01 V70 T5 he donated the two 740s to our local school program, despite my resistance...
